Defination / Uses

Blood urea nitrogen and creatinine are both metabolites, so they are produced constantly by the body at a fairly steady pace. The difference lies in the way they bear in the nephron, the functional unit of the order. Creatinine is generally filtered, buried directly into the lumen, and doesn't leave the lumen of the tubule. BUN is filtered and also reabsorbed back in the blood, so, naturally, we'd have further BUN in the blood than creatinine.

Creatinine is a product of creatinine phosphate breakdown in muscles. In a normal, healthy state is depends on the quantum of muscle mass in the body- that is why generally men will have advanced creatinine situations than women. It also reflects the state of organs similar as the feathers and liver.
